Over the summer of 2011, the Washington County 4-H organization partnered with Casa Guadalupe to provide youth volunteers to lead the summer reading program. The following is a letter is from Samantha Decker, Volunteer Coordinator of the program:
"I would like to take the time and thank you again for allowing 4-H to come to the CASA Education Center this summer and lead the reading program. All of my volunteers were ecstatic about helping with it and were disappointed to see it come to a close this past Monday.
I’m excited to tell you that the Family Living Educator, is VERY interested in continuing the program throughout the school year with the children.
... I would also like you to know that this program, of all the programs I’ve been coordinating this summer, was and still is, the most near and dear to my heart. The children at CASA were genuinely excited about reading, which was easily contagious to the youth leaders who volunteered with the program as well. I hope we, as 4-Hers, have made just as big of an impact of the kids, as the kids made onto us!"
Thanks again,
Samantha Decker
